Dear Ms. Matthew: 

Thank you for your e-mail from October 15th. I would be happy to answer all of your questions. I have explanted many silicone-gel implants and saline implants since 1990. I explant far more than I implant.  

For patients who are interested in implantation, I provide them with as much information and facts as possible regarding potential future complications associated with saline implants. Many of my patients are already very well informed of the potential risks.  

I feel it is their decision to implant after I have presented all the issues. Once patients have made up their minds, I will support them as a physician to accomplish their goals. I do not recommend any implant, because they all have potential problems that patients have to live with. I do not encourage a mother to nurse with implants because of potential infection and other unresolved issues.
