Honorable Judge SpectorP.O. Box 911Bay City, MI 48707

Dear Judge Spector:

Re: Dow Corning Bankruptcy

Are we, as "foreigners" to citizens of the USA worth less or worthless?

I know that we are neither! We, as women living in countries other than the USA, are worthy to receive the same compensation as the USA women. Why, as a part of the Dow Bankruptcy, are Canadian women being offered 60% of what a woman from the USA is being offered? Where is the justification and fairness in this?

I understand that you, as the Judge, must think only in terms of the laws when deciding about this case.

But, what law states that women who do not live in the USA cannot receive the same dollar amount awarded to one who lives in the USA if both suffer the same damages?

What law states that a company can knowingly harm people, sometimes causing permanent disabilities and not have to adequately compensate these people?

What law permits companies to feign bankruptcy (I guess its something to do with Chapter 11 in the USA) just so that it can attempt to realign itself at a later date and to continue in its harmful ways?

What law is going to buy back the lives of many woman who have suffered so much because they unknowingly had breast augmentation, for a variety of reasons, and were lied to by statement or lack of statements (omission of the truths) by a company greedy and uncaring?

What law is going to repay ME for all the adverse health complications I have endured because of the one Dow Corning silicone gel breast implant I had in my body from 1972-1992?

My right breast did not develop and I wanted to wear a bra without padding one side as I had been doing for more than 9 years. At the age of 21 I was implanted. Guess what? I now wear an external prosthesis. If Dow had not lied in the past, I would have stayed with the external in 1972 and certainly not have taken the chance that I could harm my health and literally destroy various aspects of my life.

So, Judge Spector, I beg you from the bottom of my heart, please consider those of us who were told so many untruths. What law will help us?

Most respectfully,

S. Joyce Attis
