Hello.

I have to tell the world connection what has happened here in Iceland when I read about what is happening in Canada, our group is not so old but with a lot of help from people from other country something very good happened here in our country and now I will tell you about that.

Our group has been having hard time to get people understanding what Silicone implants might do to our body and because it is not test that have shown links between symptoms and silicone implants then it has been much harder but we did not give up we kept the health minister, our country doctor, drug administration, government and the media as much informed as we were able to, we have had a hard time to finance to keep our phone line open and internet too and we spend our disability pension to keep this going, then we got sponsor from people in Canada to keep the phone line open for 1 month and that was a lot of help and that was not enough from them they gave us a web page that we have already start to build up and if you are interesting to look at this side then our web page is

and we have just started and thank to them who helped us now we will try to keep this page as good as we can even we do not know anything how to build a web page but hopefully someday this page will be good.

Then we wrote to our health minister and we asked for sponsor to keep our group going because we thought that we had missed a lot of things theresome it had not been any information in Iceland about silicone or saline implants no brochure nothing at all, I had a meeting last year with our health minister and she liked what we were we doing and also told us that this information were needed in Iceland. This week I got a call from the health department about our sponsor and they told us that our health minister was going to sponsor us so we could keep on going for a while with the internet connecting that means a phone bill and internet connection the money is great to have even though we know that this will only keep us going for a wile. But the most important thing for our group was acknowledgement what we had been doing, we do not know if that is many country in the world that has done the same thing for their silicone survivor groups this is the biggest thing that could happened to us we are very proud of our health minister and all the people that we have been sending information because they have also laid their hands in there with the heath minister and the we are not going to forget our healthcare because they have been hard on this to so we might get sponsor.

So we are a going to keep on going as long as we can and no one is laughing at us they listen to us. We sure hope that one day the same thing will happen in other country then Iceland. We hope that all of you understand how proud we are now with our healthcare and hope that someday that all of you could say the same thing about your healthcare. Once again we are proud to be a Icelandic woman just for who we are.
