To Whom It May Concern:
In this letter, I am trying to express the physical pain that I have experienced daily from breast implants and the emotional pain caused by the doctors who were in such denial.
In December 1972, Dr. Fowlow, a plastic surgeon in Calgary, Alberta, implanted Dow Corning silicone gel breast implants for me.
Just 60 days before the surgery, I had divorced a very abusive alcoholic man after 23years of marriage. Before I had my two children (both of whom I breastfed) I had an average bust line. After nursing the children, my bust line increased.
When my husband grew angry, he would sometimes beat me and foully curse me and make fun of my breasts. He had me totally convinced that, if I ever left him, all men would find me ugly. I was in a dreadful emotional state. I believed that the only way I could rescue myself was to change my appearance.
I knew Dr. Fowlow, he had helped other family members with plastic surgery. I had complete trust in him. Since I had some breast, he implanted me with Dow Corning 225 cc volume.
I paid for the product and the operation myself. Dr. Fowlow thought that I could qualify for payment for medical reasons but it would take a long time and I had no medical coverage in Alberta. I was satisfied that I was improved after surgery.
I moved to Victoria and began a new career in Real Estate which I continue to the present. At that time, Dr. Tompson tried many treatments to help my indigestion. He took out my stone-impacted gall bladder in 1976, it made little difference. I developed water retention in my legs and body, followed by easy bruising, tenderness of skin and muscles. In 1978, numbness, tingling, burning of hands, especially the feet, kept me awake at night. Joint swelling and pain came in 1979.
In 1983, my stomach pain was severe. Dr. Grimwood tried everything, X-rays showed nothing, medication did nothing to relieve me. My stomach burned with acid and at night my throat often was burned. My abdomen became distended. I had none of these problems before the implants.
A lady friend, who knew of the implants, suggested Sunrider Chinese food herbs and sent me some from Calgary. Into the second month, Dr. Grimwood said, "whatever you are doing, don't stop". I showed him the food, he checked it all, and said, "keep it up, there is nothing here that will hurt you". The swelling left, I was very careful what I ate, eliminating junk food, pop, tea, coffee, rich food. I have never ever smoked or taken street drugs. I do not drink alcohol.
I found the Sunrider foods helped me most. However, as a single lady supporting myself and helping my girls, it was difficult to manage what I felt was an extra expense. I gradually used less, however some items I found I needed daily.
In 1983, I began to notice difficulty remembering what I had read and was sometimes confused. In 1985, I developed arthritis, especially in my hands and neck. I experienced a lot of weakness. In 1986, I began getting easily disoriented.
My rheumatologist, Dr. Rothwell, has been helping me since July 1988. The forefinger and thumb on each hand are twisting in opposite directions, and the ring finger's large knuckle on each hand have deformed. Dr. Rothwell tells me that these deformities usually stop at about age 50 to 58 years. As mine is still progressing 5 years later, I am convinced it is due to the silicone implants. Dr. Rothwell declares I have had all the aristospan injections allowed in the hands.
I find it very difficult to drive my car today, and operating the seat belt buckle is excruciating. I cannot press a pen hard enough when writing contracts with carbon copies. To manage, I print what I can with a computer. When I am working, I must ask buyers to unlock the doors, it's impossible to turn keys or operate the keypad on the Supera lock box.
I find it impossible to do my housework. The pain is so severe that I have to hire help. I cannot push buttons on photocopiers, elevators, or some banking machines with enough pressure to operate them. I fear that someday I will lock myself in a washroom that uses a turn button or key. I must leave the door or cubicle unlocked. There is no doubt in my mind the silicone implants have caused my hands this extra pain, twisting, and weakness, especially the last 5 years.
In 1985, I began to notice that my energy level was declining and some days, work was impossible. In 1988, insomnia, incontinence, and very severe fatigue came. I also started stuttering and reversing words, letters, and numbers. It was always attributed to stress.
Now I do realize that real estate is stressful to a degree; however, as my responsibilities had decreased, I did not agree totally with my doctors. I asked them to do some tests and they keep putting me off and made excuses: you're under stress, you're getting older. Dr. Rashmi Singhai told me to read stress books.
In 1991, when I asked Dr. Vivian Rushworth to please do some tests for Epstein-Barr virus, etc., because many days I felt totally exhausted, just could not get going, she said, "if you are looking for me to put you on disability, I will not be a party to that."
No one believed that after 8 hours of sleep it was a struggle to stay up all day. I returned to Sunrider for help, spending $300 to $400 a month but that amount gradually became not enough to keep me up all day. I slept 8 to 9 hours and had to lie down before lunch (sitting does not help) then again in the afternoon before dinner and was in bed by 10 p.m. I cannot keep up to my friends on a walk. Last year I was walking briskly in low-heeled, soft-soled, Newport shoes; a little lady with snow white hair, a shopping bag in each hand, passed me without effort. When this happens, you realize something is very wrong.
When I went to college, I placed 11th in a class of 33 the first term. The following term I placed 3rd in 33 and won two awards. I have always been an A student. I passed the real estate exam on my first try. Today I am expected to pass seminars regularly to keep up to industry standards. I find my memory on studying assignments is poor because I have trouble remembering what I have read. There are times I go over paragraphs as many as four times and still don't understand them.
Many times, messages are hard to follow. My concentration is poor. I cannot work by selecting a time suitable to my needs without considering those of my client. It takes me a very long time to write a letter. My son-in-law and husband have edited all my letters for the last 9 years. How capable am I today in my job when there are often law suits arising from poorly written contracts and misunderstandings. Clients have noticed that I do not always comprehend. How many clients have I lost because of these problems? I had always been competent.
During the last 4 years a frightening situation has been going on. I get lost while I'm driving, even in my own neighbourhood where I drive hundreds of times. This is terrifying. How can you get lost at home. Three times this has happened in the last 3 months. For example, coming back from the Sunrider office with my order, I had made a delivery of papers and, to avoid rush hour traffic, I decided to turn into a side street and detour a couple blocks. All of a sudden the entire area meant nothing to me for about 5 minutes. I was miles off when I finally got my bearings. I found myself going the wrong way on a street that I have used about six times a month for the last 6 years. This sometimes happens when I go to show properties. It is humiliating when I am late between showing several properties.
This is not caused by daydreaming, it occurs while I am concentrating on driving very carefully, reading all signposts, and getting no help from them. It happens at home too, I can't remember what I have done. It lasts from 3 to 5 minutes when it comes on. I just cannot comprehend anything during that time. Many days my head is muddled the entire day.
I get this excruciating wave of pain that comes up from my breasts into my neck, up into my ears and teeth. It can last all day or several hours. My head aches, both ears ache, all my teeth ache and I feel drained and miserable. I feel like ripping everything apart while it lasts. No words can describe the suffering. I thought after having the implants out November 22, 1993, it would not come again. It still does.
Immunosciences Lab. blood test says abnormal levels; IgG silicone antibody,100; IgM silicone antibody 20; Total suppressor cell 1600.0; % B-Cell (TB)42.0; % Natural Killer Cells 3.0; Total NKHT3 Negative 38.0; % T3 Positive Cells 80.0; Anti-Nuclear Antibody 1:40; Rheumatoid Factor 22.0.
Looking back, I feel it has to be the implants that ruined my health. In 1972, when I thought I was rescuing myself, I actually sealed my doom. How will I ever get this ugly poison out of my body. I can't keep up the expense with Sunrider and tonics costing $546.00 on average now each month. I can't work and I can't retire with expenses like this at 63 years of age.

To Whom It May Concern:
A personal account of my life with extreme illness caused by implants, 1972 to 1995.
I was implanted in 1972 with Dow Corning breast implants, 500 Series, 540 Sub-Series. I was explanted 21 years later. I was not told of possible complications. If I had known the MAXIMUM life expectancy of implants was eight years, I would never have put them into my body.
On explantation, my implants were checked by Dr. Pierre Blais, biochemist and specialist in medical product design and failure analysis. He is a world expert on breast implants.
He determined that the fill holes were never sealed. There was so much wear that many holes were found in both implants.
Prior to explantation, on November 2 1993, I had blood work done at the Immunosciences Lab. Inc., 1801 S. La Cienega Blvd., Suite 302, Los Angeles, CA, 90035. Canada has no lab that can do blood work on silicone. My expenses were $650.00 paid for by myself.
The blood work reads like a nightmare. IgG silicone antibody reading of 100, yet the lab allows only a reading of 10, for IV tubes, antacid compounds, prescriptions, etc.
You do not need to be a rocket scientist to read this blood report to understand that I am suffering from the ill effects of silicone. Yet I was constantly told that silicone is inert, that absolutely nothing was wrong, that every weird and wonderful test had been done, and that I should do more work in my vocation selling Real Estate.
I had constant pressure in my head from pain that made it impossible to think. My brain was so full of silicone toxins that I was getting lost while driving, even in my own neighborhood 6 blocks from home.
I was working as a realtor, driving past houses I was to show and always late for appointments, o matter how I tried. It was extremely frustrating, and embarrassing for me, as I always had placed in the top of my class, even in college.
I had constant pain in my stomach, always a slow burn that never stopped. No food agreed with me. My stone-impacted gall bladder was removed in 1975. It made no difference.
Both hands became crippled with arthritis after the age of 58, not before. I could not hold the steering wheel of the car firmly enough. On turning a corner, I would be over the center line, on the wrong side into oncoming traffic.
Every doctor that I consulted did not really hear or believe me and never suggested I get the implants out. They assured me, after 2 mammograms and an ultrasound, that they were 100%, "YOU ARE ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES". What an empty statement.
My energy fell to almost zero. I was bedridden for almost the entire day.
A friend of mine for over 40 years, who has a health centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, attended a class of Wendell Hoffmann's. She was elated, for here was energy healing to help me overcome whatever disease I had or was coming down with. She gave me a great deal of product at her own expense. Soon, I was able to be out of bed three-quarters of the day.
Wendell returned to the Vancouver area to teach, and my friend persuaded me to take the Pendulum and Projection energy healing course, for it was Wendell's products that saved my life.
I was so toxic, full of lifestyle poison and the silicone. Now, five years later, an open-minded doctor will confess: yes, silicone is inert in the lab petri dish but not in the human body.
My life is now a joy to wake up to. I can actually walk to the bathroom during the night without crashing into furniture. The walk is 12 feet long and 37 inches wide. The pain was so severe when I stood up, for at least the last 7 years, and my legs retained so much water that I would sway back and forth, bumping into furniture on the way there. Many times I even fell into the wall or back onto the bed. NO MORE NOW, I can get up and walk there like a normal person.
My husband and I had dinner in the city centre at Christmas, 1992, before ex-plantation. When I got up to go to the restroom I almost lost my balance. As I was trying to keep my balance, two waiters came to help me. I know they thought I was drunk, and I had not had any drink. This and other reasons soon keep silicone victims housebound.
It is embarrassing to say the least.
My feet went from waking me up at night with pain as if I was walking on thorns to no pain at all. Other times, I would swear I was walking on fresh crushed gravel barefoot.
My energy is returning and my stomach has improved. I can even eat toast with eggs now, something I could not do since 1974. My head does not pain. The swelling across my stomach has lessened and the pain is greatly reduced.
My bones used to hurt so much and I had bruises on my legs that were 4 years old. Most of my moles are gone also.
So much for the better has happened in only 30 days after I took Wendell's BREAST IMPLANT PROGRAM. The energy healing product B-IMP was first, followed by a special INFLAMMATION. Energy healing for the many inflammations that the deadly toxins in the implants have caused.
Wendell's breast implant program also has a phenomenal rub to apply externally to relieve pain in muscles and bones. I have paper-thin cartilage between my vertebrae that causes pain in the neck and back. Just one application relieves the pain in even the most chronic areas for a long time.
What I have experienced on this program of Wendell's in relief of pain and better mobility is worth thousands. Knowing what I now know, I would borrow money to get the relief. No doctor has given me any relief from the suffering.
The actual cost is so little, just $225.00 dollars Canadian. No implanted lady should have to think twice before taking the program. I daily want to shout for joy. Many of my implanted friends feel the same way, especially those who are walking pain free.
Anyone wishing to contact me is welcome. I took the program in November 1995, and the benefits are still ongoing.

It is now three years later, November 17 1998, and I can see that an update is due. My health has improved to a degree and this I am gratefull for.
I constantly wonder how I would have been if I had not gone against nature, believing that a doctor could improve on my perfect body that God gave me. (Small breasts are not a disease as the plastic surgeons want women to believe.)
Getting breast implants was the GREATEST INSULT TO MY BODY I could have commited.

Chelation Therapy
Date: Sun, 13 Feb 2000
Some women were wondering about Chelation Therapy, what it would do for them, who had it, and what were the results.
I took 20 Chelation sessions by intravenous and had terrific results. That was in 1989. My hands were so stiff and swollen and the knuckles were so enlarged that I was having severe driving problems. As a self-supporting woman in real estate, driving is essential.
An example: I could not grip the wheel hard enough, and my son-in-law, bless him, had double padded it with leather and vinyl to help me. When I turned a corner, I would be 1/2 over the dividing line into, the on-coming traffic. That is how bad things got for me. Yes, I can honestly blame the joint stiffness on the Dow gel implants that were already leaking for 16 years undetected.
The rheumatologist that was injecting my joints with Aristospan said "save your money". Well, I was now 59 years old, and I could see I needed to help myself. Question was, do I spend my savings on a long shot, or slowly cripple up more. I went for it.
On my third session I knew I had made the correct decision, my hands were improving. The stiffness was reduced so that I could bend my fingers again and they were reducing in size.
Before Chelation, I was also having blood vessels breaking in my eyes to the extent of one per week. I would constantly have one red eye and sometimes both. This used to upset my grandson who was going on three years old; he would say, "eye owee, eye owee." He and I ate breakfast together (grandma cooked oatmeal porridge). I was living with my daughter and her two children, and wonderful son-in-law, who knew I was suffering from something and they felt they could not monitor me enough if I did not live with them. I have never had another blood vessel break in my eyes since I had the chelation.
THE WONDERFUL, SO-CALLED SAFE, INERT, DOW GEL IMPLANTS WERE DOING A NUMBER ON ME THEN, AND I KEPT THOSE TWO SEPTIC SUCKERS IN ME FOR ANOTHER FIVE YEARS.
Chelation removes unwanted calcium (from water deposits, not food) and heavy metals including PLATINUM.
I certainly received a tremendous benefit from Chelation. Along with the supplements and blood tests the Chelating doctor wanted me to take, it cost me $3,000.00 CDN, and I would do it again.
These websites are of great help, both are in the USA.
http://www.sonic.net/~nexus/chelatio.html is one of a practicing doctor with a lot of information, and http://www.acam.org is the one for a doctor of the American College for the Advancement in Medicine.
I do not think oral chelation would be as good somehow. The intravenous method is a fabulous flush out of unwanted junk, and it is also noticable at the time of each treatment.
Good Luck,
Adella Matthew of the Canadian Connection.
